Well I've just spent a good portion of my day relaxing. It's been a wonderful start to my Memorial Day Weekend. :) I didn't have to deal with traffic Friday. I went to hang out at Sam's place. We watched a rather interesting movie called "Donnie Darko". I had never heard of it but there were some names I recognized in it. It was a rather interesting movie, one that I would like to see again so I can see things I missed. I stayed later then usual and didn't get home till 2:30am.

Right now I'm fighting a cold. I would say I have one but I don't feel miserable just yet. So I'm trying to gulp down some orange juice. Sometimes it can be a bit much for me. I've lost 9 pounds since I've started slim fast just over 4 weeks ago. I'm pretty happy. The first 5 pounds didn't feel like much because I always fluctuate within those 5 pounds. But once I got below man it felt great! I've really kept up on the diet! It really works for me!

Today I slept in pretty late which was nice! The first time in weeks since I've been able to sleep in on a saturday! hehe I took my time getting ready and did the extra things I normally don't have the time to do, shaving my legs and plucking. I called my friend Brandie to come over. I was supposed to work on her husbands band website and she wanted to watch the process. It was a lot more fun then I expected. It's been a while since I've worked on templates. Here are the ones I came up with...

The first - fairly plain but I like it.

The Second - my personal favorite since I had to graphically extend the paneling of the barn background

The Third - the most classy

So it will be intersting which ones they choose. My guess is that Dave will go with the third template for the site and the second template for the online press kit. It was very invigorating to get back into the graphics again. I've missed it.

I will hopefully have time this weekend to get to my pictures of San Luis Obispo. :-\ It's been hard to get the time. But my main goal for this weekend is to take it easy but clean out some of my boxes of paperwork still stacked up by my closet.

Well I should get to bed.

Well I went on my train trip up the coast to San Luis Obispo! It was A LOT of fun! I have a TON of pictures but it's going to take me a while to get through them all. My sister and I got to the train station really early, thanks to Sam. We were on the train from 1:30 - 9:30 I think. It took longer because we had to stop and wait for trains to get situated at the stations we stopped at. I'm glad we took one train instead of hopping different trains all the way there. The train stopped so many times. The further up the coast we got the less people were on the train. Soon it was my sister and I and two other people for an entire car. I was surprised at how much nicer people are on trains. On planes we're forced to sit next to each other and timing is much more restrictive. But on trains everyone is laid back. There may be more stops on the way, why not get more beer? hehehe Of course I didn't drink but this one group made the trip fun with their already wobbly walk down the cars to the snack shop on a bumpy train ride. We got to see the ocean and the sunset and it was gorgeous!

Once in San Luis Obispo we took a cab to our hotel. The hotel was 4 miles away and it cost 12.00! So at that point we made the decision to rent a car through Avis the next morning. We heard at the train station that Avis would allow us to leave the car at the station and they would come pick it up. We stayed at the Rose Garden Inn. I looked it up online and didn't hear too many good reviews. But I was pleasantly surprised by our room. It was clean, nice furniture and the beds were soooo comfy. My sister and I crashed hard.

The next morning, after getting ready and calling Avis we walked out to the front to wait for them to pick us up. We noticed that they were re-carpeting the rooms and putting in new furniture and curtains and basically overhauling the rooms. So we had a freshly overhauled room. :-D

Our first stop after taking the car was to get starbucks! Oh and snacks for our day at the beach. I ended up buying a really cute cowgirl hat which you will see when I post the pics. I was rather surprised because I'm not one for hats but my sister picked it out. hehe We were told Pismo Beach was the place to go if we wanted art possibilities. Once we got there however the beach was overrun by people and my sister and my idea of the art we were looking for didn't include people. So we decided to drive a little farther south.

We got to Grover Beach which was beautiful. There weren't as many people and had beautiful sand dunes that were ideal for photography and painting. My sister set up her easel while I roamed the beach for unique pictures. It was a blast! I took a bunch of duplicate shots because I was playing with settings and focus. A few hours later I noticed the wind picked up so I went to check on my sister who was getting frustrated to the point of wanting to leave. I completely understood. We took pictures of what she was painting so she could finish it back at home. At this moment is when I realized how thankful I was for my art medium. My sister was stuck in one spot painting a sand flower while I got to walk all over and explore the beauty of the beach! We were driving back home when we decided to head back to the beach to let my sister have her fun walking around.

Once that was done we went back to the hotel, showered and stopped off at the diner next to our hotel and had a HUGE portion of food served to us. We bagged half of it and decided to drive by and see if we could find the train station. We were glad we did because it was a bit hard to find. The sun had set so there were no more opportunities for pictures so we just went back to the hotel to veg and go to sleep since we were heading home at 6:45 am the next morning.

We stopped off at a nearby Starbucks the next morning on our way to the station. I was happy to be going home and looking forward to our ride back. I was not disappointed. Now that we knew where we should sit to get the best view I had a beautiful scenic trip back. I took a bunch of pictures to try and show the beauty of our ride. I don't believe it captured it but I am happy to have them even if they are spotted from the dirty windows of the train. After reaching the LA station we had such a full train we could no longer stretch our legs out on the seat opposite us, we had to share it for a couple stops. It's strange that I brought so many books to read and things to do but I didn't have that much time. I guess it was filled with looking out the window or taking pictures of the train.

Well that's basically the trip. It was a good time. I'm glad I went with someone so that I could share with them. But if I desperately need solitude I think I know what I'm going to do to get it. :)

Tonight I have to get to the church to help price items for our Parking Lot Sale this weekend as a fundraiser for the Mission Trip in August. I need to get home crash early because I have to wake up EXTRA early to go see Star Wars Episode III at 6:45am! I decided that would be the best showing. The theater isn't very full and it won't cut into my work time. I already am supposed to be to work by 7am anyways so it's not much off. I can still watch the movie early on. Sam, David and Meng are going to go with me. Sam and David though will be going again to the 10 am showing with more people that couldn't make the earlier showing. :) It should be fun. But anyways, I'm late and I've written enough for today.

I'll post the pictures as soon as I can.

The last couple days have been a lot of fun. Something out of the ordinary humdrum of every day work. We had a trainer come in for our billing software to give us some pointers and teach us new things. The guy who came was nice looking so that made it all the much easier to focus. ;) But he does have a girlfriend... He was pretty cool though. Monday I was brainfried! But it was amazing all the things we could do but didn't know it! My job is eventually going to become REALLY easy... hehe I will just have to push a bunch of buttons to make everything do it's thing, instead of doing it manually. So that night I went to my MJLM (More Jesus, Less Me) meeting and then prayed with a couple ladies afterwards and finally made my way home. I did my brothers billing but I couldn't get ahold of him so I was frustrated and moody. I think being on my "monthly bill" didn't help matters much. hehe

Tuesday was a review day for me. It was confirming all my questions were answered and making sure we knew how to do the things to fix our system. After lunch I went up the hill and got everything I needed before youthgroup. I went to my hair appointment. Jeremy did a great job! I love the color and the cut! I asked to keep as much length but not at the cost of the healthy hair, so do what you need to for my hair to look good. It turned out great! I am really happy with it. Though I personally didn't like the way he styled it. He likes sleek or something, but my face doesn't do sleek. ;) hehehe Round Face + Sleek = Ewwwww!

After my hair appointment I went over to my sisters house and got a pedicure. Yes, it was a pampering day! I left there rushed to get to the mall to pick up my sapphire ring! It finally came in! I love it! I'll have to post pictures of all this stuff. My hair, my toes, my ring! Rachel met me at the mall to check out the ring and go to Bath & Body Works with a coupon she and I had. I spent even more money. But I was a good girl and didn't spend much.

I finally got to youthgroup late. Luckily Tom had started worship before I got there so I wasn't holding anything up. I had this week's questions for the teens in my book. Youth went well. They aren't doing their homework which is discouraging but it ended up being a good discussion anyways.

After that I had to go to Target for deoderant. I was avoiding going for the longest time because I can't stand going to Target for just one thing because I can never leave Target with just one thing! And sure enough... I bought a book bag as well along with mouthwash. hehe I am proud of myself but still! The book bag is there to help me with all the books I carry for my multiple classes I'm involved in. This way instead of having an armful of stuff as i'm walking out the door I can pack it all in the bag and throw it over my shoulder. It should make things easier.

I'm doing pretty good with my slimfast. I am staying motivated to lose weight. Even on my "monthly bill" I have steered clear of chocolate and overeating. I am excited to see if I've lost any more weight at the end of this week. I am also anxious for my sister and my trip up the coast! I sooo can't wait! I need time away and I'm looking forward to something different. I really just want the time to relax and get away.

Well I should get going. Hopefully I'll be able to update before I leave Friday.

I had a wonderful weekend! Saturday I went into work on building machines. I worked only a few hours before I went with Sam out to Burbank to pick up some games from my friend Russ who gave me his employee discount for EA Games. It was Christmas for every guy I know that likes gaming. hehe It was great to see Russ again. But it wasn't a long visit; we got there and basically turned right back around.

After I left the office I called my brothers roommate Mike to let him know his games were in (since my brother was hiking through the Grand Canyon and wouldn't be able to tell him the good news). Turns out he was in a head-on collision! He broke his left arm so bad that they had to do surgery and put a plate in it! He also broke his right wrist! But it was a hairline fracture but still! He is grateful that it wasn't worse then it could have been. The person that hit him head-on was at fault. This is her second offense of a DUI! And she had two kids in the car driving on a suspended license! Either way I was shocked I hadn't heard anything from my family who all knew this. So now my good news about the games came as bad news because now he won't be able to play them any time soon! :-/

So I've lost 4 pounds! I'm really excited. It looks like this program is going to work for me. Though my monthly bill has arrived and I want to eat everything in site, I'm being good.

Mother's Day we went to church and my brother surprised us by showing up (he wasn't supposed to return until Tuesday). So that was a blessing for my mom. After church I prepared the side dishes for the steak my dad was barbequing. Brian helped me out. It was a nice meal. After we cleaned up and caught up on everything with Brian we went to the fair to watch my niece’s ballet recital. On our way back home we stopped off for some ice cream and went home to watch Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (we watched Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone the night before). My sister showed up around 9:30pm to watch Phantom of the Opera on DVD but I couldn't keep my eyes open and went to bed with earplugs in (so I could actually sleep) hehe.

Speaking of Phantom of the Opera... My brother Shawn really screwed up on his 10th anniversary. So this year, his 13th, he surprised my sister-in-law with a romantic weekend getaway! He was in Dallas on a business trip, which he wasn't going to be done with until Tuesday, so she thought. He had a limo arrive Friday afternoon with a note to pack and take the limo to the airport. His assistant was to tell her that the kids were taken care of. She was then flown to New York and met at the airport by another driver to take her to the Hilton Hotel and then was taken to have a full body massage. That evening she would finally meet my brother at a fancy dinner. The next day they took a boat to all the sites and that evening they went to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway! How awesome is that!?!? I mean if he screwed up their 10 year he made up for it and then some!

Today is a training day at work. It's going to be a LONG day! Well I should probably get as much done as possible before I get stuck in the conference room all day.

I have been trying to sit down and write. The only time I've found recently has been at work, when I should be working. ;)

I have been really busy lately. There are so many things going on in my life and the emotional range is a bit overwhelming. I have always enjoyed writing on my blog, it has been a way to release some of the stress. But it seems right now that any spare time I have, the computer is the furthest place I want to be.

Work is going well. I'm just plugging away at my projects. I don't have a lot of pressure from others to finish different things so I'm just taking one thing at a time and working on it. I also think God has been working so much in my life that He is helping my attitude about my job change. But I'll explain that more later.

I am doing really good with my outlook on my weight and food. I have been involved in a weight support group at my church for a couple months now. We're studying Giving Christ First Place. It's a great book! I pray with my partner every weekday morning (with rare exceptions). I have started slim-fast this week. So far it's working out really well with my schedule! I am really impressed with their site and the tools they offer to help you manage your weight loss. But we'll see monday if I've lost any weight. :) I'm pretty confident that I will be happy with this system.

Youthgroup is going well. Since we've changed the format there have been a lot more confronting situations, but it's always been a good outcome. I am on myspace.com and most of my friends are part of the youthgroup. It's a great way for me to keep in contact with the teens throughout the week.

Right now God is doing a lot in the church and my life. My whole focus has changed. My back was healed within moments of it going out a few weeks ago after I got some prayer at our "Spirit Lead Evangelism" class on Wednesday nights. It was the most intense experience I've had in a LONG time. A couple weeks later I had a dream that woke me up and I had chills all over. It was a dream about revival. It was amazing! I totally feel God was showing me what could happen when we come together to pray for revival! I have, since then, had a huge calling to pray for that revival. My whole relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ has been revived and is growing! I'm so excited to see where He is going to take the church and myself.

Well I guess that's it for now. It's Friday and I don't want to focus on work but oh well. hehe I have to come in tomorrow and help the production department build computers. They have a large order that needs to be done ASAP! Tonight I'm hanging out with a bunch of friends, watching movies at Sam's place. It should be fun. Well I'm gonna get busy.

I found this on Sam's site so I took the test.

Here's my nerd score! Your nerdiness is: Low Ranking Nerd. Definitely a nerd but low on the totem pole of nerds.

I am nerdier than 61% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

Here's Sam's

I am nerdier than 89% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

That's what you get when you work in computers all day. hehe
